The Welsh NHS Confederation Health and Wellbeing Alliance (HAWA), previously known as Policy Forum, was established in 2015 to bring policy and public affairs professionals from across Wales together ahead of the 2016 Welsh election.

The HAWA has over 70 members with representatives from the NHS, local government, healthcare, social care, patient organisations and the professions. The HAWA aims to be a collaborative independent voice, able to identify and seeking to address issues affecting the health, social care, wellbeing and the integration agenda, and its impact on people across Wales.

The HAWA has established subgroups to enable more detailed conversations to take place and to develop policy in particular health and care priority areas. The HAWA has subgroups on health inequalities, mental health, social care, long Covid, the National Clinical Framework, obesity, and climate and sustainability.
