  • NICON25 brought together hundreds of HSC leaders and partners to share ideas and optimism, reflect on progress, network, and learn. The overarching theme of this year's conference and exhibition was 'Reset | Shaping Health and Social Care for the Future'. The event took place at a critical juncture, following on from the publication of the Health and Social Care Reset Plan in July 2025.

At conference, we considered how to take forward the priorities set out in the Reset Plan and Minister Nesbitt's three-year strategic plan for health and social care in the context of unprecedented financial pressures.  Over the course of a day and a half, we examined the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing a system-wide HSC reset as we seek to deliver four strategic shifts: from treatment to prevention, hospital to community, analogue to digital, and people to partners.

During the conference, delegates had the opportunity to visit over 50 exhibitors and choose from more than 50 sessions on a wide range of topics central to the Reset Plan and implementing these shifts.

  • We have made the mainstage presentations given at NICON24 available for download:

    Mainstage slides - Day one

(There were no multi-slide presentations given on the mainstage during day two)

If you would like to access slides from a specific fringe or parallel session, please email robyn.scott@niconfedhss.org.

  • On day one of conference, a special episode of the NHS Confederation’s ‘Health on the Line’ podcast was filmed live on the mainstage. Confed Chief Executive, Matthew Taylor, was joined by the Permanent Secretary for the Department of Health, Mike Farrar. Together they discussed the ambitions arising from the Reset Plan for health and social care in NI. They also touched on the importance of empowering chief executives to act as partners in health care delivery.

    The episode is available now!

  • At conference, we launched a new report, 'People to Partners', which summarises discussions during a recent roundtable exploring the development of a unique approach to building a new relationship with the public in Northern Ireland. Developed in partnership with the Patient Client Council (PCC), this report explores the collaborative advantage of a new relationship with the public in delivering public sector goals in Northern Ireland. The report is available for download.

  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) allows you to keep your mind active as you up-skill or re-skill at various events, conferences or workshops throughout your career.

Applying for a CPD certificate is simple: For every hour you attend NICON25, you earn one point towards your continued professional development. 1 hour = 1 point, therefore if you weren’t able to attend the whole conference, you can calculate how many points you have earned.

Please complete this form to request a CPD certificate. The deadline is Friday 31 October 2025. Once completed, the team at CPD should process the request within 28 days. If you have not received your certificate by Friday 12 December 2025, please contact marketing@nhsconfed.org, and we will look into this on your behalf.
