The Evolve Collaborative has reached an important milestone as the new analytics platform at the centre of the partnership between the NHS Confederation and Beamtree goes live.

Developed with local NHS leaders, the platform is designed to support data driven improvement by enabling NHS trusts to compare their performance with peers, blending AI powered forecasting with episode level insights and by accessing a consistent view of emerging trends and risks.

The Evolve Collaborative is built on a peer-to-peer learning and benchmarking model proven internationally through the Health Roundtable , which over 30 years has supported more than 200 hospitals and 98 member organisations. This experience has shown the value of combining reliable data with structured collaboration to improve care, and the approach is now being adapted specifically for the NHS in England.

Key to The Evolve Collaborative are learning communities which provide a trusted and safe space for members to share experience, test ideas and learn from one another.

The new platform strengthens this by helping trusts understand variation, identify in year savings opportunities, assess the likely impact of improvement strategies and target interventions with greater precision. Using national datasets Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) and Emergency Care Data Set (ECDS), together with machine learning and risk adjusted modelling, it highlights emerging issues earlier and offers a clear, contextualised view of performance. These insights complement existing business insights tools and can be used by boards, clinicians, operational teams and analysts.

The Evolve Collaborative forms an important part of the vision for the new organisation created through the merger of the NHS Confederation and NHS Providers, which will be the only membership body representing and supporting healthcare leadership across the UK. Improvement, leadership development and peer to peer support will be central to its offer, and The Evolve Collaborative is a prime example of this.

Anna Winyard, General Manager – UK and Europe at Beamtree, said: “This is a big step forward for The Evolve Collaborative and our vision of helping NHS trusts to drive change together, powered by data.

“By combining the strength of shared experience and the power of data, we want to empower clinicians, boards, and operational leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, together.

“We have worked hard to make this platform as powerful and as useful as possible to members and this collaborative approach is baked into The Evolve Collaborative to ensure solutions are practical, relevant and focused on improving outcomes for patients.”

Rory Deighton, acute and community care director at the NHS Confederation said: “It’s exciting to have reached this point in The Evolve Collaborative’s development.

“It is important for NHS leaders to have trusted spaces where collaboration thrives, and where curiosity is encouraged, where members can share openly and challenge ideas without fear.”

The Evolve Collaborative is an add-on to NHS Confederation membership and is now recruiting for the final places in cohorts 1 and 2 to begin in April 2026. Find our more at nhsconfed.org/evolve or register your interest now and we contact you to arrange a call.
