Quantifying the economic and social impact of the NHS
Speakers

At the local, regional, and national level the NHS is a significant, and overlooked, economic actor. NHS trusts are often the largest employer in the area with considerable socio-economic influence beyond the core objective of treating of patients.
Quantifying this impact is important to ensure NHS leaders are able to speak with confidence to their communities and policy makers.
This webinar will address why quantifying the economic impact of the NHS is a necessary task and the framework to approach it. The focus on economic growth amongst policy makers gives NHS trusts the opportunity to establish themselves as central forces driving local prosperity.
This is the sixth part in a series being led by Michael Wood, head of Health Economic Partnerships. Michael advises NHS leaders nationally and locally on policy, strategy, partnerships and funding relating to the local economy, including in areas such as skills and workforce, estates, innovation, population health and finance.
