NICON Webinar: Waiting List Initiatives – Understanding the Priorities
On 6 May 2025, Health Minister Mike Nesbitt announced a series of new initiatives to tackle waiting lists in Northern Ireland, in line with the priorities set out in our Programme of Government.
At this webinar, Lisa McWilliams, Director of Strategic Performance, and Tomas Adell, Director of Elective Care and Cancer Policy in the Department of Health will set out an overview of the initiatives and how these will be rolled out. Following their presentation, the session chair, Professor Mark Taylor, will invite comment from a range of key stakeholders and set aside time for discussion so we can explore opportunities for progress on this very high-profile issue.
This session is being held as part of NICON's 'Grasping the Nettle' webinar series, which will run throughout 2025. This series focuses on 'nettles' (strategic priorities) we must grasp to drive progress across health and social care.
