As part of our Black History Month activities, the BME Leadership Network held a series of events.

This was the third event in the series, and was hosted by our network co-chair Danielle Oum, and chair of Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The event provided an opportunity for the BME Leadership Network to educate its members on the history and nature of the anti-racist struggle in the UK, and the lessons learned. The event brought together contributors with significant experience of anti-racist campaigning over the last 50 years.

Speakers included:

  • Amrit Wilson – writer and activist on issues of race and gender in Britain and South Asian politics
  • Colin Prescod – cultural activist and chair of the Institute of Race Relations
  • Salma Yaqoob – British political activist and psychotherapist

This event was only open to BME Leadership Network members.
