In 2016, NHS England and NHS Improvement set out planning guidance, including contracts and improvement priorities, for the period from 2017 to 2019. Refreshing NHS plans for 2018/19, published on 2 February 2018, reflects on the changes that have been made in the period since.
It provides updated guidance on how commissioners and providers should refresh their plans for 2018/19.
The guidance is intended to allow organisations to continue working together through STPs to deliver system-wide plans, with additional freedoms and flexibilities offered to the most advanced systems.
