Welcome to the new chair designates within integrated care systems

The ICS Network responds to the announcement of new chair designates within ICSs across the country.

Responding to the latest announcements of new chair designates within integrated care systems, Lou Patten, director of NHS Confederation's ICS Network said:

“As the NHS Confederation is the only membership body to represent ICSs, I warmly welcome the chair designates that have been announced so far and will be in the coming days.

"It is clear from the calibre and seniority of those being appointed and reconfirmed that these are hugely important and influential NHS leadership roles. As we greet some new colleagues into our ICS Network, I also wish to recognise the valuable contribution of those chairs who have led their systems until now.

"These appointments mark an important stage on the challenging and exciting road ahead as health and care systems prepare to take on statutory responsibilities next year, and continue the great integrated work which is already happening on the ground.

"Much needs to happen by 31 March 2022, and we have continually said that particularly for more recently constituted systems, April will be a start of their development, not an end.

The ICS Network connects, represents and supports ICS leaders and continues to influence policy and decision makers on their behalf. We look forward to working closely with the chairs and continuing to support them."
