NHS Clinical Commissioners

For nearly a decade, NHSCC supported clinical commissioners to get the best healthcare and health outcomes for local communities.

With clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) set to be dissolved and statutory ICSs assuming many of their functions from 1 July 2022 (subject to the passage of legislation), NHS Clinical Commissioners (NHSCC) ceased operating on 31 March 2022.

The NHS Confederation’s membership offer to commissioners now sits within our ICS Network. The network’s workplan has taken into account the learnings for ICSs, as set out in a recent CCG legacy report, so we can support ICSs to continue to have strong clinical leadership, to nurture commissioning skillsets and to facilitate integration at a place-level.

Membership of the ICS Network is open to all systems to renew for the next financial year. The network will also provide membership and support to CCGs for the transitionary three months from April-June ahead of the anticipated implementation of legislation.
