Specialised commissioning workshop - ILD
This event was co-developed by Boehringer Ingelheim and the NHS Confederation’s ICS Network, with Boehringer Ingelheim co-organising the event, including the development of the agenda, identifying attendees and writing this web page. Boehringer Ingelheim was responsible for funding the event.
The virtual workshop took place on 28 April 2025 and discussed the opportunities afforded by the delegation of specialised commissioning for treatment of interstitial lung disease (ILD). It was chaired by Fiona Edwards.
Here you can find some of the resources and a summary of the discussions from the event:
In February 2025, the NHS Confederation published our vision for delegated specialised commissioning (NP-GB-105318), setting out the opportunities to integrate care pathways and improve access when 70 specialised services are delegated to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in April 2025. ICBs in the North West are already commissioning 59 specialised services at system level, including for ILD.
This virtual workshop, hosted and delivered jointly by the NHS Confederation’s ICS Network and Boehringer Ingelheim, explored the opportunity for reimagining specialised services through the lens of the ILD care pathway.
The workshop provided an opportunity for colleagues leading the redesign of ILD pathways in the North West to share learnings with peers across the country.
Unless stated otherwise, Boehringer Ingelheim is not responsible for any content which is unrelated to the workshop, that may appear on this web page.
