Policy Forum response to UK Government immigration white paper
Health and social care organisations have outlined the key issues and priorities in response to the skills-based immigration system white paper.
We are concerned that the UK Government’s intention for a new system as proposed in the Immigration White Paper will have a detrimental impact on current recruitment and retention problems across the health and social care sector in Wales and within the UK.
Health and social care are already dealing with serious workforce gaps and demand continues to outstrip the supply of staff, despite the increase in staff numbers.
