NHS Confederation responds to annual CQC adult inpatient survey

The welcome improvement in satisfaction levels is testament to the hard work of NHS staff.

Responding to publication of the Care Quality Commission’s annual adult inpatient survey, Rory Deighton, acute and community care director at the NHS Confederation, said:

“This survey gives us some key insights into the experiences of patients’ staying in hospital. The welcome improvement in satisfaction levels is testament to the hard work of NHS leaders and their teams.

“But despite the good work it is worrying that many aspects of inpatient care are worse than before the pandemic, with too many patients waiting too long for care when they are living in pain or discomfort.

“The government’s Ten-Year Health Plan sets out bold ambitions to improve performance, with shifting more care into the community likely to be a long-term key solution to easing pressures on hospitals.”
