Independent Healthcare Providers Network

Independent Healthcare Providers Network

The Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN), previously known as the NHS Partners Network, is a hosted network of the NHS Confederation, and is the representative body for independent sector healthcare providers. The Network was established in 2005 as a body to represent independent sector providers of NHS clinical services, and was incorporated into the broader NHS Confederation in June 2007. In 2018 it was announced that the Network would expand its remit to cover all services delivered by our members including NHS and privately-funded care.

IHNP’s members are drawn from a diverse range of healthcare sectors including acute, primary, community, clinical home healthcare, diagnostics and dentistry. IHPN membership includes both for-profit and not-for-profit organisations with members delivering both NHS and privately funded health and care services.

The potential for the independent healthcare sector to play a bigger role in improving the health of the nation remains considerable and whilst the last four years has seen an increase in the NHS services delivered by the independent sector, there is much more to do to develop integration and partnerships with the NHS, and to tell a positive story for those individuals and their employers who wish to pay for services directly.

As a member of IHPN you not only get the benefits we offer, but you also have access to the NHS Confederation member benefits.
