The NHS Communicate Conference will now take place on the evening of Wednesday 1 February 2023.

Following the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we took the decision not to go ahead with the NHS Communicate Conference scheduled for 14 September or the NHS Communicate Awards ceremony scheduled for 15 September.

Following the period of mourning, we have now rescheduled these events over the coming months. Tickets booked for these events will remain valid for the rescheduled events.

The new dates are:

  • NHS Communicate Awards took place on Tuesday 11 October 2022.

  • NHS Communicate Conference will take place next year, on Wednesday 1 February 2023.

The NHS Communicate Conference is back for a second year, offering an unparalleled opportunity for senior communicators across the health service to explore the reputational challenges facing the NHS and to share expertise and learning from healthcare and beyond.

It seems like a long time since members of the public were clapping for NHS staff at the height of the pandemic. Today, the NHS finds itself under increasing operational pressure, with lengthening waiting times and an exhausted workforce with low morale.

With public satisfaction at a 25-year low, and following recent tax increases to fund extra investment, public scrutiny of the NHS has rarely been greater.

Building on the great success of last year’s inaugural event, NHS Communicate 2022 is a chance to explore the impacts of the pandemic on the reputation of the NHS and the role of communications in supporting and helping to build and sustain its profile and reputation. Whether it is demonstrating the value the NHS delivers to patients, or positioning the NHS as an employer of choice, NHS communications plays a vital role.

What will we cover?

This is a unique opportunity for NHS communications professionals to come together, network, and debate the issues around the reputation of the NHS, sharing expertise and learning from some top speakers.

We’ll be asking who is responsible for managing the reputation of the NHS; considering how others outside of healthcare have handled huge reputational challenges.

We’ll explore the role of outside parties and influencers; debating the ethnics of reputation management; getting into the detail of facing high profile crises; asking how we can build and sustain the NHS’ reputation within organisations and local communities, and much more…

Who attends?

The NHS Communicate Conference provides a great opportunity to catch up and exchange ideas with peers from across the sector. It's designed for senior level communications professionals from:

  • NHS trusts and foundation trusts

  • clinical commissioning groups

  • integrated care systems

  • primary care networks and primary care federations

  • national bodies

  • voluntary sector providers of NHS-funded care.
