During the COVID-19 pandemic, LGBTQ+ people have faced a unique set of health challenges, including increased isolation, prolonged exposure to hostile environments, delayed access to services such as hormone therapy and surgery, increased mental ill health, and rising substance misuse. For the LGBTQ+ population to recover and thrive after the pandemic, the way services are designed and delivered, and the workforce environments they are delivered in, must change.

In response to this, we brought together a panel of LGBTQ+ healthcare leaders to discuss what will be needed for the LGBTQ+ population to recover, and from this conversation created a series of recommendations for the health and care sector to consider when designing, commissioning and delivering services.

This consultation will close on 10 January 2021.
