Improving access, experience and reputation are all priorities for NHS hospitals and for the communities they serve.

Hospital car parking is an issue at the forefront of public and employee concerns and scrutiny from the media and from patient and staff organisations of the NHS in England is likely to increase. This is therefore an important issue for managers to get right. This briefing sets out some of the many examples of good practice in car parking and transport in the NHS and suggests five principles for fair car parking and transport policies.
