The NHS is embarking on a decade of reform and facing continued and unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
At this critical juncture for the sector, the Health Leaders Panel draws together more than 100 healthcare leaders to provide an expert view on the state of the health and care system in England.
With leaders from across the country, it also serves to show how organisations and systems are delivering lasting improvements to the health and wellbeing of their local communities.
The panel includes the most senior leaders working in provider trusts, clinical commissioning groups, ambulance services, primary care networks, integrated care systems and third and independent sector organisations. View the list of panel members.
They will be regularly surveyed to see how their views develop over time and how they are responding to challenges and opportunities. The survey will cover issues including staff capacity and wellbeing; performance against waiting-time targets; regulation and governance; and the move to system working.
The first survey was carried out in August and September 2020 and formed the centrepiece of a major report published in late September.
A digest of the survey findings can be found below.
