Why become a member?

As a member of the NHS Confederation, you access support that helps you improve population health, deliver high-quality care and reduce health inequalities.

We support our members in three ways:

  • We connect the whole healthcare system, to boost system working and develop solutions to shared challenges.
  • We support leaders to develop and hone their skills, equipping them with tools, ideas and insights and connecting them with a community of leaders.
  • We represent organisations and sectors, to ensure local organisations and systems work in the best interests of service users, citizens and staff.

We know that placed-based and system working are increasingly important to you, and that is our main focus. But we also know that as a member working in a specific sector, you will have specific issues and challenges that you may want support in addressing. Therefore, you and your teams will continue to benefit from specific networks and activities dedicated to your sector.

Connecting leaders

We connect our members through our sector-specific networks, diversity and inclusion leadership networks and action learning sets. Make sure you are signed up to the most relevant network for you.

Supporting leaders

We support our members through our professional development programmes, action learning sets and through our regional team. Every member has a regional lead on hand to support them.

Representing leaders

We represent our members, influence on their behalf and act as their voice in public debate. We also provide a national platform for our members through our NHS Voices blog.
