Letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson post-2019 general election

The government is committed to significant NHS and social care investment and to hold cross-party talks to put the social care system on a sustainable footing, both of which we very much welcome. At the same time, while we continue to support the vision and commitments of the NHS Long Term Plan, we are concerned about current pressures and the service’s ability to deliver all its ambitions. If we are to bring about the change that is required, we do need to have realistic expectations and a wider public understanding of what is being attempted.
