Dr Masood Ahmed is a renowned NHS leader specialising in digital transformation, leadership development, and healthcare innovation. With over 20 years of experience, he serves as the chief digital information officer and deputy chief medical officer for NHS Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin Integrated Care System, implementing an ambitious digital strategy for 500,000+ citizens.

He is also a non-executive director (NED) at Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Partnership Trust, associate NED across Kingston Hospital and Hounslow & Richmond Community NHS Trust, visiting lecturer at UCL Global Business School for Health and a manager at Green Templeton College, Oxford University.

Masood is passionate about teaching, mentoring and developing future leaders through his work at UCL, Oxford University and as a member of the national NHS Confederation BME Leadership Network Steering Group, where he has led the development of a national BME leadership mentoring programme.

With a distinguished career, Masood has held high-level roles such as global medical director at Dell, associate chief clinical information officer for NHS Midlands, chief medical officer at NHS Black Country and West Birmingham CCG, chief digital officer at the Health Innovation Network and WMAHSN, chair of negotiators for the British Medical Association JDC and senior advisor to UCL Partners and DigtalHealth.London.

His special interests include systems leadership, strategy, quality improvement, digital transformation, innovation and artificial intelligence, and he recently contributed to the Hewitt Review as part of the digital and data workstream.
