New guiding group members for national Health and Care LGBTQ+ Leaders Network announced

We are delighted to announce a number of new guiding group members of our Health and Care LGBTQ+ Leaders Network, following an application process over the summer. The newly formed guiding group also includes representation from two LGBTQ+ NHS staff network chairs, who will join the guiding group for a two-year fixed term.
The new guiding group members are:
- Dr Alison Berner, Academic Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology, Specialty Doctor in Adult Gender Identity, Barts Health NHS Trust, Hospitals Chelsea Westminster NHS Trust and Queen Mary University of London
- Dan Bailey, Consultant Physician/Geriatrician, Kings College Hospital (LGBTQ+ staff network chair representative)
- Anthony Hassall, Chief Executive, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust
- Melanie Holloway, OD Manager (EDI), NHS England (LGBTQ+ staff network chair representative)
- Claire Ingle, Head of People Services, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust
- Andrew Kelso, Chief Medical Officer, The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
- Chris Oliver, Chief Executive, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust
- Laura Wiltshire, Care Group Director, Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust
Network chair, Mark Cubbon said:
“I’m delighted to welcome our new guiding group members to the network. I’m looking forward to working with them to steer the direction of our network’s mission, and ensure that LGBTQ+ staff working across health and care can thrive and be their authentic selves. I’d also like to thank outgoing members of our guiding group for their valued contribution over the past few years.”
Network vice-chair, Ian Green OBE said:
“I’m incredibly pleased to welcome our new guiding group members. We now have representation from two LGBTQ+ staff network chairs, which will help us continue to amplify some of the fantastic work that our network members do to champion LGBTQ+ inclusion.”

“We had a huge number of applications for our network guiding group roles and the calibre of applicants was exceptionally high. I’d like to thank all members who took the time to apply and share their experience and commitment to fostering LGBTQ+ inclusion in their organisations and nationally.”
