Sarah Booth
Sarah Booth is the Director of Communications and Engagement at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH), a role she took up in August 2022. She brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications across the NHS, having previously served as Deputy Director of Communications at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
Throughout her career, Sarah has worked across the full spectrum of communications, from public affairs, engagement and media relations to digital transformation, internal communications and stakeholder engagement. Her background includes time within an Academic Health Science Network, where she focused on the power of partnerships, life sciences, research, and innovation to drive improvement in patient care.
Alongside her Trust role, Sarah is also the co-chair of the NHS Communications AI Network's Monitoring and Evaluation Working Group. Here she helps shape how artificial intelligence is used within health communications, from understanding audience behaviours, to measuring the real impact of campaigns. Sarah is particularly interested in the practical implications of AI in health communications, ensuring that new technologies enhance transparency, trust, and patient centred engagement, rather than replacing the human connection at the heart of the NHS.
