Salma Yasmeen

Chief Executive, Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust

Salma Yasmeen is the chief executive of Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, a role she has held since July 2023. 

Salma is a values-driven leader and brings extensive experience across health and care systems, with a strong track record in transformation, innovation and people-centred change.

She is a former mental health nurse and has held senior leadership roles in the UK and internationally, including deputy chief executive and director of Strategy and Change at South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and director of Nursing and Transformation within a large medical city in the Middle East. 

She has also founded and led a pioneering mental health charity focused on culturally responsive, community-based care.

Salma is deeply committed to tackling inequality and improving lives through public services. She also serves as an Advisory Board Member for Huddersfield University Business School and Thirteen Housing Group. Her leadership has been recognised nationally and internationally, including being named in the HSJ Top 50 BME Leaders 2025 and receiving multiple awards for excellence in health and social care leadership.
