
Roger James
Roger James is an interim deputy director at the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Roger has worked for the regulator for 20 years and has always had a focus on addressing health inequalities. Roger has always promoted equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and has led action against providers for failing to meet the requirements of the Equality Act.
Prior to CQC, Roger trained as both a registered mental health nurse and registered nurse (adult). Roger has worked in a range of NHS health settings, including acute, rehabilitation, neurology and substance misuse services. Roger also led the training and development of student nurses whilst on placements in an NHS trust.
