
Rebecca Gale
Rebecca is the assistant director of primary care at the NHS Confederation, bringing extensive experience in the health and care sector. Before joining in 2023, she served as a senior advisor for the Local Government Association, where she oversaw the development and delivery of sector-led improvement programmes focused on integrated care system development, place-based partnerships, and health and wellbeing boards.
Rebecca has over a decade of experience in health and social care regulation, having worked at the Healthcare Commission and the Care Quality Commission. Her roles included inspector, inspection manager for primary care, and one of seven national lead reviewers for the local system review programme. She also led the implementation of a new inspection programme for Independent Healthcare providers in London.
Dedicated to facilitating greater integration across primary care and strengthening its role within systems, Rebecca has a keen interest in the future development of primary care provider collaboratives. She also leads our work around pharmacy, optometry, dentistry, and audiology.
