Pritti Mehta
Pritti is a national health leader whose contributions both in and out of work aim to advance the ambitions of the 10 Year Health Plan across workforce, productivity, population health and quality of care.
On workforce, Pritti led the delivery of the NHS People Plan in partnership with system stakeholders and recently directed the Culture Review of Ambulance Trusts. She has also provided leadership to the COVID-19 national workforce response, culminating in her appointment as Chief of Staff, during a complex and changing policy and operational context.
On productivity improvement, Pritti is leading the delivery of a national Workforce Productivity Diagnostic to support systems and all providers to understand key gaps and develop local improvement plans. She is also overseeing Health and Growth initiatives to reduce health-related economic inactivity.
On improving population health and quality of care, Pritti previously led on self-care/personalised care programmes, identifying evidence-based approaches and supporting the development of New Care Models that now underpin neighbourhood health.
With a PhD in molecular genetics, Pritti has a strong foundation in the life sciences. She also has extensive voluntary sector experience, having led strategy, policy and research programmes at RNIB, RNID and Genetic Alliance UK, and is a graduate of the Nye Bevan Leadership Programme.
Outside of work, Pritti is run director at WHM parkrun, leading weekly events of 600–900 people and is an avid runner who has completed four marathons and is training for a fifth.
