Jon Twelves

Jon is a Chartered Accountant by trade, training with Ernst & Young and qualifying in 1994. He has a wide range of commercial and public sector experience, and has overseen the development of Sunderland GP Alliance since its inception in 2015.  The organisation now runs core general practice services for nearly 30,000 patients, while providing citywide services such as extended access, clinical pharmacy, and social prescribing, all in support of the PCN DES.  Jon also represents primary care on the executive group of Sunderland’s placed based out-of-hospital provider, All Together Better.

Jon believes that general practice is the bedrock of the NHS and is keen to develop opportunities to work at scale where it will deliver better services for patients, and improve the sustainability of the sector in a challenging climate.
