Dr Sanhita Chakrabarti

Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Women's Health Champion, Bedfordshire Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board

A passionate clinical leader with decades of experience in women’s and children’s health, Dr Sanhita is dedicated to creating healthier futures for families and communities. As a specialist in women’s health as well as being a public health consultant, she specialises in value-based health and care, focusing on prevention, early intervention, and reducing health inequalities to improve outcomes of populations including that of women, children and families.

Currently serving as national specialist adviser for women’s health for NHS England, Sanhita is working with the national team within NHSE in delivering key strategic policy updates to help the health and care needs of women.

Sanhita is currently working as deputy chief medical Officer at Bedfordshire - Luton and Milton Keynes ICB, soon to become part of Central East ICB. Within the ICB, along with being the Women’s Health Champion, Sanhita leads the region’s research and innovation portfolio — driving collaboration and system-wide improvements that make a difference at population level.

Alongside her leadership role, Dr Sanhita continues to provide clinical care in sexual and reproductive health in Milton Keynes, supporting women who need expert, compassionate gynaecological care.

Her work is powered by one clear mission: to ensure every woman and child has access to the right care, at the right time, wherever they are.
