Director of Primary Care and Community Transformation and National Lead for the Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme

Minal is the director for primary care and community transformation and improvement for the NHS in England and is leading the National Neighbourhood Health Implementation Programme. 

She leads national strategy and delivery of large-scale complex change programmes and digital transformation. Most recently, she has led the design and implementation of Modern General Practice and the General Practice Improvement Programme – one of the largest systematic national change programmes for primary care, supporting a fairer, safer, more sustainable general practice. Prior to this she led national policy and delivery of digital first primary care, spreading and scaling digital access and delivery across general practice.

Minal has a unique portfolio stretching across clinical practice, national leadership, transformation, research and regulation. Her experience includes previous executive roles as medical director and director of research and digital innovation for McKesson UK leading innovation in digital health and scaling one of the first digital health services in the UK; the development of the first UK standards for digital health services with the Care Quality Commission and General Medical Council; and the appraisal of cost and clinical effectiveness of health technologies at NICE. 

She is also a practicing GP, working at an inner-city London practice.
