
Fahreen Dhanji
Dr Fahreen Dhanji is an experienced GP and system leader with a diverse portfolio across primary care and the wider health system in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). She has been a clinical director (CD) since the inception of primary care networks (PCNs), initially leading the MSV PCN – a large network of 70,000 patients comprising four Leicestershire County practices – for three years until 2022. She is currently the CD for a 46,000-patient PCN in Leicester City.
With 16 years’ experience as a GP, Dr Dhanji previously served as a partner at a large 36,000-patient practice for 13 years. Prior to general practice, she trained in ENT and continues to practise as a GPwSI in ENT. She is a passionate advocate for improving patient pathways and developing innovative models of care that bring services closer to home and deliver better outcomes for patients.
Alongside her CD role, Dr Dhanji is the medical director for LLR PCL – a community interest company providing clinical services within primary care and the local community, supporting the NHS and serving the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. She is also the deputy chief exexecutive of the LLR Local Medical Committee and the LLR Integrated Care Board clinical lead for immunisations.
Dr Dhanji’s portfolio reflects her extensive experience of working at scale and across systems. She brings a deep understanding of how to design and operationalise effective pathways, alongside strategic leadership to improve population health and strengthen primary care delivery.
