Welsh NHS Confederation responds to the Welsh Government’s acceptance of Pay Review Bodies' recommendations
Director Darren Hughes calls for clarity from the Welsh Government on whether the additional uplift will be fully funded.
Further to the comments made by NHS Employers in response to the government's acceptance of Pay Review Bodies' recommendations, Darren Hughes, director of the Welsh NHS Confederation, said:
“NHS leaders will welcome the Welsh Government’s acceptance of the recommendations made by the NHS Pay Review Body and the Doctors and Dentists Review Body, as well as the additional plans to improve pay and pay structures above and beyond staff covered by the review bodies.
“However, the Welsh Government urgently needs to clarify if the additional uplift, that was above and beyond what was budgeted for, will be fully funded or whether NHS leaders are expected to find the difference in existing budgets."
