The future of the mental health workforce

25 / 09 / 2017

The future of the mental health workforce has been produced by Centre for Mental Health on behalf of the Mental Health Network and is supported by Health Education England. The report looks at the changes experienced by the mental health workforce in recent years and makes key recommendations its medium- to long-term future.

This report presents the key findings from a review of:

  • The current workforce in specialist, NHS-funded mental health services in England
  • Current policy and its impact on the future workforce
  • The views of people who work in and use mental health services, obtained through a series of consultation events and roundtable meetings held across the country early in 2017.
