Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust: Technology to support wound care self-management

It is estimated 1.5 per cent of the UK population is affected by a wound, and up to 4 percent of the healthcare budget is spent on wound management.

Community nurses can often spend up to 40 per cent of their time on caring for patients in this group. In many instances, the wounds are non-complex and patients could – with the right support – manage their condition themselves.
