Personal budgets in mental health: Key points on implementation

Personal health budgets have been shown to improve quality of life and reduce the use of inpatient care and to be cost-effective. The NHS Mandate sets the expectation that from April 2015 people with long-term conditions who could benefit should have the option of a personal health budget.
