As and when the EU Institutions publish EU funding calls from other funding programmes which we think are relevant to the NHS, we will highlight them on this webpage.
European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST)
Researchers across Europe have an opportunity to attract EU funding for pan-European research networks through the initiative COST
COST is an inter-governmental framework for European Cooperation in Science and Technology, which supports the coordination of nationally-funded research at a European level. It does not fund research itself, but provides a platform for European scientists to cooperate on a particular project and exchange expertise. These projects are called "Actions".
There are 9 domains within COST, they include:
- Biomedicine and molecular biosciences
- Materials, physics and Nanosciences
- Individuals, Societies, Culture and Health
- Information and Communication Technologies
COST has an annual budget of €1.5 billion and operates on a continual open call basis in order to attract the best proposals.
