Lena Samuels is Chair of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust where she is also the well-being guardian, Chair of Hampshire and the IOW ICS, the South East Regional People Board, and the Council of the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives.
Born and educated in London, Lena was previously a non-executive director with University Hospital Southampton and an associate non-executive director with IOW NHS Trust. She was a Lay Advisor with Wessex Deanery undertaking GP recruitment and the assessment of post-graduate doctors in rotation, as well as being a member of the school boards of surgery and emergency medicine.
Lena started her career as a lecturer in further and higher education and managed a training centre in London for young people at risk of exclusion.
She currently runs a company which has provided communications and training in leadership and human rights on behalf of organisations such as the British High Commission, the National Crime Agency, CORAM, Bramshill Policing Advisers, UNICEF and UN Women.
