Responding to the National Assembly for Wales Public Accounts Committee report into the management of follow up outpatients across Wales, Nesta Lloyd-Jones, Interim Director of the Welsh NHS Confederation said:

“Health Boards across Wales are working hard to meet the Welsh Government’s targets for outpatient appointments. We acknowledge the concerns highlighted within this report and also recognise the positive developments which have been made since the Wales Audit Office report in 2015, including how technology is being used to shift services closer to people, from hospitals into communities.

“Sharing good practice across NHS organisations is just one of the ways we can help to improve services for everyone in Wales, as laid out in the Welsh Government’s long-term plan for health and social care, A Healthier Wales.”
