This webinar aims to share learning from two evaluated projects, which have seen clinical psychologists working in primary care settings.

What will I learn?

This webinar looks at new ways to support people with physical and mental health needs in primary care, leading to improved patient outcomes, creation of savings and reduced stress for clinicians.

The webinar will share learning from the evaluation of two promising approaches where clinical psychologists worked in primary care settings in Bradford and Shropshire/Catterick.

Download the Clinical psychology in primary care report.

This timely event is suitable for GPs, Practice Managers, Commissioners, Provider Trusts, Psychologists and links into the work to develop mental health practitioner roles.

Who will I hear from?

You will hear from psychologists and a GP who have put this into practice. They will provide case studies aimed at supporting primary care staff with patients who can be hard to help. This includes:

  • Patients with persistent physical complaints
  • Patients who attend frequently but with little relief
  • Patients who fall between IAPT and secondary care
  • Patients who get bounced around the system

You will learn about how these services made a difference to GPs and patients as well as how they were set-up and function.

Our confirmed panel of speakers are:

  • Dr Phil Moore , Chair of the Mental Health Commissioners Network and GP
  • Andy Bell, Deputy Chief Executive of Centre for Mental Health
  • Dr. Suzanne Heywood-Everett, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead of the Primary Care Wellbeing for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust and Clinical Lead for Adult Eating Disorders for NHSE for Yorkshire and Humber.
  • Dr.Vanessa Tobin, Senior Clinical Psychologist, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
