As part of Black History Month, our BME Leadership Network is hosting two events to explore, celebrate and showcase the experience and contribution of black and minority ethnic (BME) leaders in the NHS.
Join this session, hosted by Pride of Britain award winner Prof Dame Elizabeth Anionwu, for an insightful conversation between Lord Victor Adebowale, chair of the NHS Confederation, in conversation and Dame Donna Kinnair, chief executive and general secretary of the Royal College of Nursing.
Opened by network co-chairs Ifti Majid and Danielle Oum, the discussion will explore:
- historical influences and influencers shaping today's leaders
- how lived experience positively shapes a professional outlook
- the underused asset of BME leadership
- COVID-19 and the opportunity to act on health inequalities data that we have known for decades
- the role of community engagement in shaping positive community partnership responses to COVID-19.
