Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s Mental Health Network annual conference and exhibition. It was another successful event with over 100 delegates in attendance and a great line up of speakers and sessions.

Highlights from the day included:

  • A keynote speech from Secretary of State for Health, Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP.
  • Claire Murdoch, National Director for Mental Health, reflecting on progress made, one year on from the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health.
  • A session on improving children and young people’s mental health with case studies from Sussex Partnership, Place2Be, Time to Change and a service user perspective.
  • The implications of Brexit on mental health with Danny Mortimer from NHS Employers and Elisabetta Zanon from the NHS European Office.
  • Niall Dickson, Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation on making the rhetoric a reality in mental health.
  • Sean Duggan, Chief Executive of the Mental Health Network on the future of mental health including future priorities for the network.
  • Health economics and mental health with Professor Martin Knapp from LSE and Michael Parsonage, Chief Economist at the Centre for Mental Health.
