Engaging NHS Managers with Research. The SDO Network is a group of NHS organisations supporting research, evaluation and innovation.
The Network enables managers to improve and develop the services they manage. It does this by facilitating their access to and use of the latest health services research, leading to the development of improved health services.
Forthcoming SDO Network Events: Embracing Healthcare Technology and Innovation
Lord Darzi's recent 'High quality care for all' report sets a challenging agenda that requires NHS managers to embrace new innovations and technologies in order to deliver the best care for their patients. This is becoming an ever more important issue as the financial environment the NHS operates in becomes ever more restricted. Senior managers will be under constant pressure to identify new ways of delivering cost effective improvements in healthcare delivery.
To enable mangers to take full advantage of new technologies and innovations the SDO Network and the NHS Technology Adoption Centre, are holding a one day conference Embracing healthcare technology and innovation which aims to raise awareness of the effective ways of adopting new technologies.

Make a difference to NHS research - join an NIHR SDO Advisory Panel or Commissioning Board
New developments in health research funding are transforming the way research in the NHS is organised and carried out. The NIHR Service Delivery and Organisation programme is playing an important role in this - and you can help shape its agenda. The SDO programme aims to generate and promote the use of research evidence about improving services to increase the quality of patient care, ensure better patient outcomes, and contribute to population health. Members of the panel and Board will help it to meet the challenges of commissioning quality research in areas of importance to the NHS including the way services are provided, managed and delivered. About the SDO Network
This Network is funded by the Service Delivery and Organisation Programme which is part of the National Institute for Health Research and is managed by the NHS Confederation. This allows the Network to forge strong ties between management and research and put its members in the driving seat. The Confederation also runs a complementary Health Services Research Network for health service researchers to help them connect with NHS management.
