Letter to the Prime Minister calling for a social care workforce plan
The NHS Confederation has written to the Prime Minister calling for a social care workforce plan to accompany the NHS workforce plan.
The NHS Confederation has written to the Prime Minister upon the publication of the NHS workforce plan, asking for an equivalent plan for the social care workforce.
NHS leaders strongly welcome the long-awaited NHS workforce plan, however recognise that the challenges faced by the NHS cannot be wholly resolved without addressing the issues facing the social care sector.
A plan to boost recruitment and retention in the social care sector will enable an increase in social care packages. This, in turn, will aid the improvement of flow out of hospitals and help to ensure that patients are cared for in the most appropriate settings.
