PCT Provider Services Chair Forum, 4th February, London
As part of our work programme for provider services we are organising an event especially for chairs and lead non-executives of PCT provider services. This half-day event will give you the opportunity to hear from Bob Ricketts, director of system management, Department of Health on policy as well as Andrea Sutcliffe, chief executive Appointment Commission on what they can do to support provider services. You will also have the chance to discuss dilemmas and possible solutions facing providers as they move towards separating from their commissioning colleagues. PCT provider Forum 22 Monday 22nd September 2008
The second meeting of the PCT Network provider forum took place this week. David Stout Director of the PCT Network chaired the sell out event which was attended by 100 delegates and sponsored by Hempsons. The programme focused on sharing the learning from those involved in the community foundations trusts pilots. As well as an overview of the benefits, barriers and relationship issues, breakout sessions considering finance, governance, business planning and market awareness. The presentations of the day and programme can be viewed on the right hand side.
What did delegates get out of it?
A range of learning and development opportunities will include:
- insight into why CFT's went for this option
- the process they have undergone with the Department of Health
- benefits; barriers; relationships e.g.: what was good and what they would have done differently
- internal and external relationships that help/hinder, staff and staff-side engagement
- focused break-out sessions on Finance, Governance, Business planning, Market awareness
