This work programme is at the core of the Network's aim to champion the reputation of PCTs within the NHS and wider stakeholders. The board members leading on this area of work are John Richards, Chief Executive of Plymouth Teaching PCT and Jonathan Montgomery, Chair of Hampshire PCT.
PCT reputation within the NHS
Much of the PCT Network's work on the development of world class commissioning if successful will drive an improvement in PCTs as commissioners within the NHS.
In addition, the Network will continue to identify examples of PCT successes to underpin our communications.
PCT reputation outside the NHS
The PCT Network has been surveying all PCTs to find out further information on their relationships with local stakeholders, to better enable the Network to support their work. The results of this survey will be used to tailor materials about enhancing the reputation of PCTs.
The Network has also been involved in the Confederation cross-cutting reputation work programme for this year which includes:
- Production of a guide for board members on how to manage reputation
- Local NHS reputation advice support pack:
- learning lessons from other sectors on how to provide a customer focus
- how to involve and engage before the need to consult
- Development of support website and newsletters for NHS communications leads
Development of a local constituency links programme with their local MPs and local politicians.
