Equality

In partnership with the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) team at NHS England, the NHS Confederation is holding a series of events for chairs and chief executives across the country designed to initiate and progress a discussion on workforce race equality within the NHS.

The evidence is clear that workforce race equality is critical to patient care, safety and outcomes and that it also leads to the efficient running of the NHS.

The evidence is also clear that success in this area is dependent on demonstrable and committed leadership.

The aim of these events is to provide senior leaders with a comprehensive briefing, with information to take forward work on this challenging agenda for an inclusive NHS. This will include examples of best practice and details of the support available from NHS England.

The events will take place in Birmingham, Newcastle, Cambridge, Manchester and London between March and June 2018.
