Beatrice Fraenkel elected NHS Chair Representative

The Mental Health Network has appointed Beatrice Fraenkel, Chair of Mersey Care Foundation Trust, to the Board.

Beatrice was elected by network members from a strong field of candidates and will take up her seat at the next Mental Health Network Board meeting in October.

A wealth of experience

A CQC special advisor specialising in governance and leadership, Beatrice brings with her a wealth of experience. In addition to being a keen advocate for the mental health sector, she is an industrial designer and ergonomist with particular expertise in designing systems and products aligned to end user requirements.

Beatrice was a Non-Executive Director of Liverpool Health Authority, then Chair of South Liverpool Primary Care Trust and has just completed her eight years DCLG/Privy Council appointment as Chair of the Architects Registration Board.

Upon being confirmed as NHS Chair Representative, Beatrice spoke of her enthusiasm for her new role:

"I'm delighted to be elected by my chair colleagues and look forward to bringing my passion for mental health and experience of partnership working to the Board. There is significant attention being paid to mental health and a great time to be involved so directly. Thank you for your support and I look forward to my first Board meeting in October."
