The NHS Confederation is the independent membership body for the full range of organisations that make up today’s NHS.
The Mental Health Network (MHN) was established as part of the NHS Confederation to provide a distinct voice for mental health and learning disability service providers.
The network aims to improve the system for patients and staff by raising the profile of mental health issues and increasing the influence of mental health and disability providers.
It has an independent board elected by its members. The board is made up of a range of voices including providers, clinicians, service users and partner organisations.
Steve Shrubb is the director of the Mental Health Network. He oversees a dedicated team of staff and steers the work programme on behalf of MHN members.
