As a member of the NHS Confederation your views matter

We are committed to ensuring our work programmes, policy and influencing activities are based firmly on your priorities, views and experiences.

Virtual Reference Groups are just one of the ways in which you can input into and help shape our policy and influencing activities.

Become a Group member

To become a member of any one of our three Virtual Reference Groups, simply email membership@nhsconfed.org and let us know which Group you would like to participate in.

Benefits of being a Virtual Reference Group member

Engage in and help steer the work of the NHS Confederation

  • Help test and generate NHS Confederation national policy and influencing lines.
  • Feed in your views and responses to national policy consultations.
  • Provide evidence and examples to Government Select Committees and other national policy-making bodies.
  • Highlight your experiences and case studies for inclusion in Parliamentary briefings.

Benefit from increased opportunities for direct representation at both the national and regional level

Wherever possible, Group members will be given the first opportunity to:  

  • Join meetings and round tables with national stakeholders, policy-makers and parliamentarians.
  • Participate in oral evidence submissions to Government Select Committees and other national policy-making bodies.

Showcase your work and good practice

  • Showcase your work and good practice examples to Government and national bodies as well as to the rest of the NHS.

Through our Terms of Reference we encourage all Group members to take an active role and ensure you are kept up to date on your impact and influence.

  • Innovation and technology

3. Partnerships for local health

  • Integration of health and social care
  • New models of care
  • Prevention and self-management
  • Working in partnership with Local Government: Devolution of health and social care; health and wellbeing boards; Better Care Fund and pooling resources
