Our work programme

We bring together the whole community of people interested in care provided in community settings, and speak on behalf of of providers of NHS-funded community health services.

Our work projects:

Shaping new approaches to payment for community services

Development of a clear, strong community services position on the future of tariff and the extension of new payment approaches into community services, and influencing Monitor to take this into account.

Sharing best practice, leading edge thinking and commissioner views on integrated care

Exploring new approaches of commissioners to contracting for integrated care. New approaches to contracting are less explored and will have a very big impact on community services.

Working actively with commissioners through NHS Clinical Commissioners

Community service providers want to be commissioned in ways that reflect the increase in demand from an ageing population, and enable innovation. There is a need to build understanding of their contribution among clinical commissioners, and understand new approaches of clinical commissioners.

Making the case for community services across the media, politics and the wider health service

Activity with the media, policymakers and influencers to build the profile of community health, and their value to the system.

Providing a community service provider 'voice' to influence new policy developments

In particular, we expect the Forum will wish to shape and respond to NHS England's work on the future NHS strategy later in the year.
