Press release: Mental Health Network comments on Healthcare Commssion's community mental health survey
12 Sep 2008
Commenting on the report, Steve Shrubb, director of the Mental Health Network which represents the majority of mental health trusts, said:
"The Healthcare Commission's survey findings show that overall community mental health services are improving. We welcome these findings while realising that there is still more to do.
"The current policy consensus is moving towards a focus on outcomes and patient experience. The Confederation, with a coalition of mental health groups, has produced its vision for mental health which centres on empowering and involving service users in their care.
"Surveys such as this are essential for helping mental health providers maintain the focus on what service users want."
